Virtual Power Plant

Virtual Power Plant

A Virtual Power Plant is usually composed of decentralized, medium-sized power generating units such as solar parks, wind farms, combined heat and power units (CHP), and flexible power consumers and storage systems. Though officially connected through the central control room of the virtual power plant, the units are independent in their ownership and operation. We at Jesco-Energy are using the innovative concept of a virtual power plant that is economical and releases practically no carbon in the atmosphere.

The primary objective of a virtual power plant is to take off the load on the grid by smartly distributing the power generated by each unit during peak periods. The concept of VPP is very useful in monitoring, forecasting, optimizing and dispatching the power generation as well as its consumption. It helps in balancing the fluctuations during the generation process by ramping up and down, power generation and power consumption of the controllable units. A very major objective of a VPP is integrating renewable energy sources into the existing markets.
